How does Valentine's Day affect you when you're alone without a partner or sweetheart?

To me it hurts. I start to notice more the happy couples walking hand-in-hand or shopping together in the malls and I envy them for their happiness. I see the men in stores buying gifts and flowers for their wives and sweethearts and think how lucky they are to have someone. Yes to some it’s a tacky holiday invented by businessmen to make money. But to me Valentine’s Day serves to remind me how empty I feel without someone in my life. How do you react to it?

What flowers would look good with cobalt blue bridesmaid dresses?

I am planning on an October 2nd wedding. I have no idea what color/kind of flowers to use for the bouquets. We are getting married in an old country church and plan on keeping the church plain (no extra flowers because we are on a strict budget). I want to keep it nice and simple. Any suggestions?

What kind of wedding flowers would compliment a turquoise theme?

My bridesmaids, wedding dress trim, and groomsmen will all be rocking turquoise at our wedding in a year. My mother is in charge of flowers and is having a hard time coming up with something that will compliment that color! I thought pink roses or stargazer lilies would be best but she thinks
I’m nuts. Any ideas?

Any ideas on what flowers grow in shaded areas?

I have a flower bed up against the back of my house and which is completely covered by the overhead deck. I want to plant some plants there, but don’t know which flowers grow best in very shaded areas? Also there is a large rabbit population in my neighborhood and would like to plant flowers that the rabbits wouldn’t be so eager to eat.

What are good flowers to start with for a novice gardener?

Hello. I have sandy soil, live in Michigan, zone 5. The area I want flowers in is about 6×10. The area gets full sun all day and most sun after 2pm. House faces west, the flowers are to be in the front of the house. What flowers are really easy to start with, and what combinations should I use. Any really good websites anyone knows of could help too.

What Makes a Mattress Organic?

Various sleep disorders happen to be connected to chemical sensitivity. Despite the fact that no research have conclusively shown that organic mattresses can cure any sleep disorders, there is certainly plenty of anecdotal evidence to propose they can be one of many factors in increasing the value of some consumers’ sleep. Before running out and purchasing one of these kinds of beds, it will probably be a sensible strategy for the normal customer to first know what an organic mattress is, why they would prefer one, and the amount of money they might be willing to pay for one. Another great model to consider is Floral Quilt Comforter.

What flowers are available for a fall wedding?

I have been preparing for a summer wedding all year but now I will not be able to have my wedding until late October, early November 2007 because I can’t get my fiance here until then because of visa technicalities. I was wondering what kinds of plants and flowers are available for that time of year? I know florists can get you just about anything but I am working with a smaller budget and was thinking about buying potted plants and flowers from a nursery to add greenery and color. The wedding will be outside so I need some plants to liven up our garden that will be mostly dormant by that time. This has been very last minute news and I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?
